Miraikan – The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation
日本科学未来館
Odaiba · near Telecom Center Station (Yurikamome), 4 min walk; or Tokyo Teleport Station (Rinkai Line), 15 min
Japan's flagship national science museum, covering space, robotics (home of the ASIMO successor demos and the Geo-Cosmos globe), life sciences, AI and the environment through large interactive exhibits and a dome theater.
Why children love it: Hands-on robotics and android exhibits, the giant suspended Geo-Cosmos LED Earth, a dome planetarium, and build/experiment stations that reward touching and doing.
Honest drawbacks: Big and can be tiring; some deeper exhibits skew to older kids/teens; will CLOSE for a ~6-month refurbishment from 1 Oct 2026 to 22 Apr 2027 — confirm before any late-2026/early-2027 visit.
