Meguro Parasitological Museum
目黒寄生虫館
Meguro · near Meguro Station (JR Yamanote / Namboku / Mita / Meguro lines), ~12 min walk
A tiny, free, one-of-a-kind two-floor museum devoted entirely to parasites, with ~300 specimens on display including its famous 8.8-meter tapeworm and a gift shop of parasite-themed souvenirs.
Why children love it: The gross-out factor is a huge draw for curious older kids — real preserved specimens and the giant tapeworm are memorably icky and fascinating.
Honest drawbacks: Very small (a quick visit); graphic specimens may unsettle sensitive or very young children; limited English labeling; closed Mon–Tue.
